WILD WEEKEND #1!

The Enegren/Dick Wedding
On Friday we got a real treat! We spent the day with Tina and Ryan. OK, so what's the big deal you say? We always think it's a treat to be a part of someone's wedding! Well, this wedding was no different except it was our third for the Enegren family! When we first started our business several years ago, we were blessed to get to know the Enegren's first through their son Danny and then son Nate, who was married last year in Kansas City. Now, we are so thrilled whenever we see the family at many weddings at their church, we feel so very lucky! Well Friday we were able to get to know their daughter Tina just a little bit more! It was her big day. Busy in Nursing School, her mother planned much of the wedding. Jeri- you're an angel! The groom was equally busy, recently taking a job as a full time firefighter. Tina's day started at Charisma Salon with her 7 bridesmaids, 2 junior bridesmaids, flower girl and her mother. They took over the whole place! With that many ladies, the salon had them all looking fabulous in record time! Afterwards, they headed to the church (Glenville Bible Baptist) to apply make up and get dressed. The ladies wore sleeveless lavendar dresses and were quite the troopers with the snow threatening just hours away! Tina's gown was strapless with beadwork accenting the top of the bodice and down the back forming a gorgeous split down to the modest length train. Just stunning.
The bride and groom chose to see each other prior to the ceremony so they could get all the pictures out of the way before hand to enjoy the reception later (good thing, too with questionable weather!) Kate Cass of Absolute Expressions was the photographer. The flowers were various shades of lavendar and purple, done by the Music Director of the church, Nate Harmon, who also sang with his wife during the ceremony.
The ceremony began as the snow storm hit and friends and family from everywhere braved the weather, including many firemen in dress uniforms from the Newton Fire Department to support Ryan. Everything was of course gorgeous with metallic candles lighting the stage and matching part of the backdrop for the Christmas program only a few days away. Other vocalists included a previous bride, Randi Ludwig, and M'Lisa Alonso who also sang at a previous Enegren wedding- both have voices of angels! Everything went by rather quickly and before we knew it Ryan was allowed to kiss the bride and promptly dipped her as well! (Good work Ryan!)
The couple was applauded as they left under a cloud of bubbles from the guests into the cold air and into the limo. The reception was held in Goddard at the Tanganyika WIidlife Park. What a great place. Although we were there in the dark, the snow was covering beautiful landscaping and I only wish we could have gotten a glimpse of the animals. I can't wait to work there again in the daytime!
Dinner was catered by Corporate Caterers and Scott Ward from AMM (Accent Mobile Music) was the DJ and MC for the night. The couple wasted no time after dinner getting down to business- partying! Despite the weather and snow mounting by the second, the majority of their guests showed to celebrate with them and the room was packed!
Thank you again for having us as a part of your day, we feel so blessed! It was so great to see SO many familiar faces and previous brides, we had a great time! Please stay in touch even though all the kids are married off now, remember we do Baby Stories now! :) Ryan and Tina, congratulations!

The Courtney/Eyster Wedding
On Saturday, it was a blessing that the day started a little later than usual because we were pretty tired! But what a great day it was! Let me just say Cinnamon has really good taste right from the start! Beautiful invitaitons, great taste in fashion and decorating, too. We started our day with Cinnamon at the Wichita Scottish Rite downtown. She had already braved the weather and had her hair styled by a good friend and co-worker. It was all pulled up with a gorgeous flower placed in the back with her veil and tiara set perfectly. When I saw her dress, I wished I could get married all over again myself, it was gorgeous with souffle skirt and champagne lace over the top, heavily beaded bodice and a modest flowing train that seemed to float as she walked! Cinnamon and her 7 bridesmaids all got ready together in the bridesroom and it was one stunning bridal party! The ladies dresses were all black but different styles to match their own style, some with a red sash. The maid of honor wore an all red strapless floor length gown.
When Cinnamon was ready, she wasted no time in going to meet her groom for the first time with photographer Marcia Morrison and her assistant Amanda. We think James was pretty much speechless when he saw his bride. But a big smile is all that was needed and spoke volumes! They got as many pictures ahead of the ceremony as they could, but didn't brave the weather with the dresses! Then everyone took their places on the steps in the main assembly room for the ceremony.
The bridal party filled the entire staircase and the Minister took his place at the bottom of the steps so the couple could face out to their crowd at the top of the landing. The ceremony was short but personal and none too soon they were announced as husband and wife! The bridal party was announced at the top of the steps and into their reception, held there at the hall. Cutting the cake and toasts followed. The bride tossed the boquet from the top of the steps as well as the groom slipping off the garter, like a gentleman, on the steps also. Dinner was catered by Corporate Caterers and as soon as the dance floor was cleared of the buffet, the newlyweds had their first dance, as well as dances with their parents and also special dances dedicated just to their parents. It was a fun night and James and Cinnamon really enjoyed their friends and family's company.
They are off to Florida for a warmer honeymoon! James and Cinnamon- we wish you all the luck in your new life together, we had a great time getting to know you! Thank you for letting us share your day.
Thanks to Marcia for sharing some of her photos! Click below to see their wedding day prequel!

McIntosh-Mendenhall

Our sincerest apologies to Katie and Nick! We've just realized before the prequel goes up here shortly that we failed to make a blog entry about their wedding day a month ago! It was our intent to post the blog entry the next day when we rendered the Bridal Elegance Video that Katie surprised Nick with on the wedding day. Well, with the move into the studio, etc about that time, the render did not get completed and thus the blog entry slipped our minds! Thanks to Katie and Nick for being so understanding and patient! You guys are truly wonderful!

But we still wanted to share with you all some of the details about the wedding day! Nick and Katie were wed Nov. 10th, 2007 in Mulvane at First Baptist Church. I started the day with Katie at The Salon at College Park in Derby with all her bridesmaids getting updo's and having a great time. Everyone looked great and were more than ready to get the show on the road! After a quick bite for lunch, the ladies met up at the church to get dressed, including the "Best Person" Shilah, a friend of the Groom who replaced the traditional "Best Man". Katie chose a champagne colored dress with sequin bodice, and a modest train. It didn't take her long to get dressed as she was ready to meet her groom for photos prior to the ceremony. Katie also received a special surprise about this time- her younger brother was able to attend the ceremony acting as a Groomsman after being released from the hospital that morning!

After Katie met her Groom and they took as many pictures as they could, time was flying and the ceremony was fast approaching. Their guests filled the sanctuary and were entertained with a photomontage of the bride and groom growing up made by the grooms mother. Parents were seated and it was time for Katie's Dad to walk her down the aisle. The ceremony was performed by the Senior Pastor at the church and after the newlyweds exchanged vows they had a symbolic ceremony of Hand Fastening or Tying of Hands to symbolize their committment to one another. They were soon pronounced husband and wife and exited the church under a flurry of bubbles blown by their guests. Just a few photos left to take before they headed off to the reception at Hidden Lakes Golf Course in Derby. The festivities were MC'ed by family, who is actually Scott from AMM (Accent Mobile Music)! Everyone was able to grab dinner and sit back to enjoy the photomontage we prepared and the surprise from Katie to Nick, the Bridal Elegance Video we shot at Botanica about 2 months earlier. The dancing lasted into the night and it was a great day for Katie and Nick. Check out their prequel here to get a sneak peak of the day!

Katie and Nick, again we apologize about not sharing the details of your day sooner, we did have a wonderful time and enjoyed your entire family. Congratulations!

Finally!

Well, finally we are moved in (sort-of) to the new studio in Valley Center! We've been working from this location for a few weeks now and have been meeting customers in the new Media Room (AKA The Private Theater) that was completed last week. We currently still have some supplies sitting around in boxes, etc that are waiting to find their permanent home, but all in all, we are up and running! We even got our first UPS delivery here this morning of much needed supplies-it was like Christmas a whole two weeks early! So to get you all up to date, we've posted some pictures for you to give you a little bit more of a sneak peek prior to the Grand Opening after the New Year rolls around. (Still no date yet!)
We've also been incredibly busy with the Holidays approaching fast again and the shopping that goes with it that we haven't even started! Catching up on the edit que is another never-ending project. The following weddings are due for delivery prior to Christmas: Gruetter, Millen, Gerlach, and Doyle. In addition, the McIntosh/Mendenhall prequel will be posted sometime later this week as well. We also have 2 Love Stories due up in the next few weeks as well as multiple photomontages and an exiting documentary for our friends at the Hutchinson Community College Paramedic Program. So, needless to say, we've been putting in some late nights at the studio and will share with you some of these projects as they are completed right here on our blog (just give us time). Let's not forget about the five weddings we have yet to film between now and the end of the year! We also have an extremely exciting project in the works with our friends Tyff and Jeff here at the studio that we will be announcing around New Year's. We will definitely fill you in sooner if we are able, but you won't want to miss this announcement!

There will be many exciting new things in the blog after the first of the year and some other changes regarding online communications as well. Shew, I'm tired thinking about all this stuff already! There just aren't enough hours in the day anymore! Be sure to subscribe to the blog (to your right) to keep up with our latest happenings! It's free and you only receive an email when the blog is updated, no annoying sales pitches or us selling your email address to those that will annoy you! :)

Be sure to leave us your comments (the "comment" text below each post) so we can hear what you have to say about the latest announcements and work posted in the blog! Also, don't forget to submit a name in our "Name our Building" contest! Comment in the blog or drop us an email to submit your idea! We've had a few trickle in. Scroll down to see what we are looking for below, entitled "HELP!"- Stay tuned! Until next time bloggerheads!
Steph
Pictures, starting from the top are: The Lobby, decorated by Tyff, complete with Christmas Tree, giant fake presents and letter to Santa- not to forget our stylish hanging balls! Ally and Barry help me tackle the edit que, and networking issues! (ARG!) Me and Bear finally get dinner after one of our late nights at the studio at Buffalo Wild Wings (the only place open at that hour!) Then there's 'the flying dog'...it's not a bird, plane, or superhero to the rescue, it's Lucky Dog breaking out of his confines to catch a nap in the Fat Cat Quarters! Jeff, Barry and his nephew tackle new flexible track lighting in the theater- it's way cool by the way! There's my goofy mug helping Barry put together the new screen for the theater room- the company sent white gloves so we wouldn't get oil from our skin on it! (They better have- it wasn't the cheapest of our recent purchases!) Next, Barry snaps one of 53 fasteners for the screen! After the screen was hung, Barry went fishing for wires in the wall for the speakers, but Jeff caught Barry instead! Tyff and Jeff join us on our late dinner out discussing the big project we have coming up soon! There's me working hard at my new desk :) Not. I caught a quick pic of Ally being a cheese shortly after. See, she's working! How could I forget the latest crisis to slow us down? The water leak in the basement. We installed a new faucet and well, let's say the connections weren't quite perfect. We came home to a lake of water ontop of the sheetrock that had to be fixed! Have I mentioned my husband LOVES plumbing? HA!

Almost There!

We hope everyone had a most wonderful Thanksgiving and you were able to take time with your families and be thankful for all that you have. We are very thankful for our family and friends, our furry children and a growing business. And so we thought we'd take just a minute to post a few more pictures of the progress of the building. I'm trying to not give too much away on what the final rooms look like, as we'll post a video tour when the building is complete, but we'd also like to see all of you at our open house to come and see in person! The pictures just don't do the building justice anyways :)
Remember, we're hosting a contest to name the building, so put your creative thinking caps on and start submitting! Be sure to keep up with the blog and what we're up to by subscribing to our blog (on your right) it's free!

Pictures below are: Steph admiring her new rug making sure carpet will match- it does! A nice blurry shot of Barry setting up our TV in our office/consult area. Jeff and his Dad building walls for sets in the shooting area while Tyff and Bear supervise. Tyffany hard at work ripping out old yucky carpet in the media room, in her own words "I LOVE DEMO!" Check out that face. You worked hard, Tyff! There is Barry's hands putting our new 106" screen together for the media room- it's way cool! And finally Tyff takes a break with Lucky. Oh, and that cute picture up top, that's Tyffany cleaning the framing cabinet, she was the only one small enough to fit in! :) Sorry Tyff!

Help!

As many of you know, Fat Cat Productions is moving into a studio, space shared with our friends at T&J Studios in Valley Center. We were working on the studio late one night this week when we were trying to come up with a name for the building/studio itself. We had lots of great ideas come to the table, but none seemed to catch our attention and hold it as the "one".
So another idea came to the table via Tyffany and Barry- let's ask our clients and blog readers for suggestions and hold a sort of a contest to name the new building! If you have lived in Wichita for a long time, something similar to what Coney Island did when they turned into "Spangles". There will be a prize involved, although unfortunately not as big as the one Spangles dished out-a cruise to an exotic location! But it will still be lots of fun to see all the submissions!
We ask that submissions be sent to Tyffany, Jeff or the Fat Cat's via email. Friends and family are welcome to join in the fun! Everyone of all ages can submit ideas. Please title your email "Name Contest", submit your idea, as well as your name and age (prize will be age-driven). And so you have an idea what we are after, keep the following items in mind:

The type of building it is. (a quonset)
The interior. (warm colors but clean, neat and modern)
The type of businesses. (photo, video, art forms, creativity, etc. we aren't strictly weddings, we also do corporate work and other projects)
Short and easy to remember name.
Preferably fun and easy to spell :)

We will compile all the names and review them seeing if anything strikes our fancy within the next few weeks and hopefully post a winner in a future blog entry. Here are some pictures to give you some ideas- HAVE FUN!

New Addition at FCP!

Nope. Not pregnant. Nope. Not another dog- although one is coming in March most likely! Check back later for more info on that! :) Please give a warm welcome to the newest addition to the Fat Cat Crew- Allyson Voshell!
Ally has been subcontracted to assist in the edit bay this winter and next spring. If you notice any resemblance to Ally and myself, you guessed it, that's my kid sister! Ally was recently married in July and promptly moved away to North Carolina to be with her Marine-husband. (You can check out her prequel right here in the blog). She came back here a few weeks ago to learn how we do things at FCP while her husband trained for a second deployment to Iraq in California. After going back to Carolina to see him off, she returned here again for the length of the deployment to be close to family. She has turned out a few edits already. We are looking forward to the creativity she brings to Fat Cat! We've posted a brief questionaire about Ally so you can get to know her better.
Favorite animal? Winnie, my dog of course! But after her, I would say dolphins. :)
Favorite food? Chicken fingers and fries! I get that EVERYWHERE. Even Carlos O'Kelley's! And also, anything with carbs is good for me!!
Favorite movie? Any movies with dancing in it. Dirty Dancing, Dirty Dancing Havana Nights, Step Up, Stomp the Yard, and of course...The Notebook. Oh! And Pirates of the Caribbean!
What has you most excited about working for FCP? Expanding my creativeness in the video world.
What do you bring to Fat Cat? My own sense of style and creativity to further enhance the signature style of FCP.
Best piece of advice to brides to be? Stay organized, make a timeline and budget. KNOW what you want. You don't have time to not make up your mind, or keep changing. Keep your mind open to other ideas, you might like it. Don't be a Bridezilla, that will NOT get you help at all. This will be a day you want to remember for the rest of your life, and it will go by so fast, which is why you need FCP to do your video! :) I went through my wedding planning while my fiance was in Iraq, so if I can do it, you can do it. Remember that this is your wedding, its just one day. The marriage is the rest of your life...so don't stress over details. That day, do what you need to do, but just let the day flow because you will be taken care of.

Now just how she keeps off all those carbs, chicken fingers and fries we'll never know- must be all that dancing! All I can say is check back with her when she's 30- enjoy it while you can Ally!

Ally will be at the studio sometime next week, so next time you stop in, be sure to welcome her aboard!

Yawn!

There has been so much going on at FCP that we have not posted to the blog in a while or as much as we would like to. Editing takes precedence over blogging :) We have been making several trips back and forth to the new studio, several times a day sometimes, and we are editing when we are not there working on stuff. We finished a corporate project this week and will be posting the Reznicek prequel in the next 2 days. We have some more big news coming near the 12th of November and an exciting online project we are excited to announce soon as well. In the meantime, we will be editing...
Please enjoy these recent construction pictures of the new building, it's coming along nicely. Tyffany and Jeff are now operating from the new location amidst the construction, so if you come for a visit, bring your hard hats! Just kidding! We aren't quite done remodeling yet and will have an open house as soon as everyone gets settled! We'll be sure to post the date as soon as we know it! Look for it sometime around the New Year for right now, we'd love to have you!

Below, Tyff and Brett watch as the guys from TK Fast install the phone system. And everybody at work, while I document :)

Sparks fly as the door is cut to make way for a new floor. And Jeff in his hip hop hat painting the consultation room.

Barry working on our new wall in the office. You won't believe what color it is now! And oops. Somebody fell through my celing while installing phones or internet. (It's fixed now. )
And I thought I was bad picking out my paint chips! Jeff's office looked like Home Depot for a while! Tyff shows off Maggie's pumpkin outfit on Howl-oween. Steph and Bear strike a goofy pose. Ah, power tools- I removed all the outlet covers myself! Jeff skimming the walls in his office. I'm really digging the hat!

One tired kitty! Sebastian demonstrates how we have felt this week! He's just too much!

Ramsey Prequel Online NOW!

The Ramsey Prequel is now online! Please scroll down to find it! We think it's a great mix of the emotion and fun of the day! Don't forget to leave your comments! Coming soon, the Reznicek prequel!

Movin' in!

Well, the last few days off and on we have been making a couple trips to the new studio to decide on some paint schemes for our office, see how the layout for the media room will work out, do some measuring for our work station and edit bay, etc. So we thought we would give you just a sneak peak of our new pad before we really start digging in on construction! It's just a shell right now but stay tuned, we'll post pics from time to time!

Here is Me, Tyff, Jeff, Lucky and Maggie cyphering on the new color schemes. The photo above is what will eventually be our conference room.

Steph starting to tire on choosing the color for her office! When I get a couch in my office, maybe I'll just crash and stay the night. The floor really wasn't that comfortable!

The bazillion paint chips I swiped from Lowe's and Home Depot because I couldn't decide (we eventually made a decision, but you'll have to come to the open house to see the final choice! Or keep checking the blog if I can't contain myself and spill the beans first... )

Me and Tyff being cheezes in our new offices.
Mine's bigger! But I have to share with Barry- ewe!)
Barry taking down existing shelving while Tyff helps me choose my paint color!

Ah, Sonic, of course! We will be indulging in many a Lime-Aid in the future!

KSN Threw A Wedding!

Friday was the big day for Maggie and CJ, winners of the KSN Throws a Wedding Contest! What a whirlwind day! We started out at Platinum Salon and Spa with Tyffany and Jeff of T&J Studios. Maggie and all her bridesmaids had their hair styled and make up applied by the very talented stylists. Maggies hair looked great with the winning style and she kept mentioning how no one from work would recognize her! Afterwards Maggie ran to get lunch and take a break until the afternoon when we all met back up at the Patroleum Club to prepare for the actual ceremony.
When Maggie arrived, she went to check out all the floral arrangements provided by Susan's Flowers and the cake donated by Artisitc Cakes. When the dresses arrived, Maggie wasted no time in donning her gown with the help of her bridesmaids. The winning dress looked great on her and was quite unique. It was an Alfred Angelo white gown but with a splash of color around the waist and a split up the back opening to a swatch of color that matched the light blue bridesmaids dresses. A semi-cathedral length gown flowed behind her.
The flower girl's dress was also a winning choice by KSN viewers, white toule with matching blue flowers around the waist and bow in back.
Once the girls were ready, Maggie went to meet her groom for the first time prior to the wedding so they could get many photos out of the way before guests arrived. CJ was poised at the front of the room with his back to the bride as she walked down the aisle and tapped him on the shoulder. He had the biggest smile on his face when he turned around! After photos the bride retreated to the dressing room while guests started arriving and CJ greeted and thanked them for coming.
Once the music started for the ceremony, the room came to a hush, the bridesmaids all marched in and the crowd stood for the bride as she entered through the french doors. Her father escorted her and gave her away. A judge the couple knew from their Law Enforcement careers performed the ceremony and in record time! They were husband and wife before they knew it and off to the awaiting limo from A-List Limousine for a few pictures off site.
With the sun dipping down below the horizon so quickly, we headed to the Keeper of the Plains for photos for some extra lighting and Tyff, Jeff, and Brett got some killer shots of the wedding party and the newlyweds. We would have loved to spend more time on the bridge and below the Keeper itself, but we had to get the couple back to enjoy their guests and the party.
They were announced by DJ Mark Mazuur and promptly cut the cake and were toasted by the Best Man and Maid of Honor before they had a chance to sit down and have a bite to eat themselves. Soon after Maggie threw her bouquet, CJ removed her garter (like a gentleman!) and they danced their first song together as husband and wife. The parents dances followed and then the dance "snowballed" into a very nice party for them. They spent the entire night dancing, visiting with friends and family and just enjoying each other.
It really was a fun day to be a part of. Thanks to KSN for allowing us to be part of the contest and Lacey for all the guidance along the way. Thanks mostly to CJ and Maggie for being so open and willing to allow their day to basically be planned by the public! You were great to work with and get to know, please keep in touch!
Click below to Maggie and CJ's wedding day prequel! And don't forget to go to your right to subscribe to the blog and we'll send you an email whenever we post something new!

Jones-Hampel Wedding

This Saturday we were able to film Julie and Nathan's wedding day! It was a lot of fun from the start. The couple met on the WSU rowing team and the entire family is Shocker Fans. We walked into the rehearsal Friday night to find a sea of black and gold shirts in the pews waiting for the rehearsal to start! The theme carried over into the wedding day, with their colors being black and gold, the programs sporting stalks of wheat and real wheat stalks in the flower arrangements and the pew bows!
The wedding party met up on Saturday at the church to get ready, the ladies in classic black dresses and men in tuxes. The bride wore a strapless champagne gown with beaded bodice and a pleated waist, lace up back and perfect train. The flower girls sported black dresses with a gold sash and yellow roses on barretts in their hair.
The children were a huge part of the celebration. No official "flower girls" or "ring bearers" but a Parade of Angels instead.
The couple chose to see each other for the first time at the ceremony. The wedding was held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in west Wichita and a full Mass was celebrated by Fr. James Billinger. The couple finished all their pictures afterwards with Tyffany and Jeff of T&J Studios. Then Tyff and I rode along in the Unifed Party Bus to the reception at the Airport Hilton where the newlyweds snuck into the room prior to the guests to check out the decorations. The guests in the meantime were indulging themselves with a cheese fountain. Yes, we said cheese fountain. You see, Nate and Julie are huge movie fans and everything at the reception had spashes of some of their favorite movies, The Wedding Crashes, Talladega Nights, etc. Quotes were set up around the room giving the guests a good laugh and even the photomontage that Nate made with their engagement photos resemblig "Old School"!
The couple gave the sign of approval to the reception hall and then mingled with guest prior to the grand entrance.
The cake was gold, napkins in black and gold, the grooms cake sported a Wushock on the top, with a replica rowing boat and diplomas, the sides decorated to look like the team rowing oars.
The couple was then introduced by Scott from Accent Mobile Music in the style of a sports team, including the bride and groom body slamming against each other after they entered! Then the traditional events, cutting cake, toasts, dinner and first dances. Although they put a twist on the tradition toast, and toasted with "Jones Soda's"! The kids enjoyed the "Cooperative Musical Chairs" game provided by Scott and everyone had a great time. Some of the wedding party exchanged tuxes for t-shirts later in the evening, but no ordinary t-shirts. You guessed it, gold in color with a Wushock on the front and "Nate and Julie 10-20-2007" on the back! Thanks to Tinley of Jubilations Events who helped keep the days events flowing!
Nate and Julie, thank you so much for letting us share in your day. We had a good time! Thank you for a fabulous dinner, we appreciated that very much. Your families are great and you guys are a lot of fun, keep smiling and laughing!

Crumley-Reznicek Wedding!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening with Rebecca and Nathan. Our day started meeting the bride and groom at The Grand Chapel downtown while they prepared with their bridal party. Rebecca wore a sleek, white strapless gown with beads lightly embelishing the top edge of the bodice and bead work to the waist and pulled to the left side. A modest train finished the look. Rebecca's hair was awesome. Her sister is a stylist and styled it for her, pulled up with tons of curls (they started at 7 am!) She chose not to wear a veil but no one hardly even noticed she looked so great. The flower girls hair were also done by her sister with a green ribbon woven throughout the curls- very cool! The bridesmaids wore all black and the groomsmen were in traditional black tuxes. The flowers were all a very natural look with daises, lillies and roses in white and shades of green. The chapel decorations matched perfectly.
The bride and groom chose to see each other prior to the ceremony so they could get all their pictures taken to save time for the party afterwards. Their photographers were quite fun and great to work with, Brian and Darrin from JDB Photography. Nathan had the biggest smile on his face when seeing Rebecca for the first time!
The cermony started promptly at 7 pm after photos and was very nice. The bride and groom exchanged not only traditional vows, but very personal covenants to each other. Nathan surprised everyone with a little more humor in his than expected :) They exchanged rings, lit the unity candle and presented their parents with roses while Nathan's sister played the flute, accompanied by piano.
The newlyweds exited the chapel and returned only for a brief time for photos with grandparents and then made their way downstairs to the reception hall for a light buffet and the party! When it came time to cut the cake Nathan knew what would happen and surrendered himself to it and took it like a good sport, all over his shaved head! We think he was wearing more of the cake than he got to eat!
The traditional dances started the evening and their family and friends danced into the night until the party ended around 11 pm.
Nathan and Rebecca, thank you so much for having us yesterday, we really enjoyed ourselves and getting to know you two better, we hope you have a great getaway to Texas and especially your trip at the first of the year, it will be here before you know it. We enjoyed being with your family as well, it was fun to see some familiar faces!

THE BIG NEWS!

OK, so it's the Big News you've all been waiting for we keep hinting about and haven't officially shared. It's been in the works since May, a few people have been told here and there but it's now finally official and we can spill the beans!
Those of you that have met us at our home and have met our many pets, especially if you are allergic to any of them, will be happy to hear we are movin' out!
Not moving out of our house as far as where we live, but where we work, meet clients and preview wedding movies. Yup, it's storefront time! If you enjoyed the cat's cleptomaniac skills of stealing the pens from your purses, I'm sorry! (We'll bring pictures!) We are very excited to have slowly grown our business to this point. The move will take place in the upcoming weeks, although the timeline is not set in stone yet. But sometime next month we will be operating from our new studio location!
The next question you ask is "where?" right? Many of you have probably already guessed, to others it will not come as a surprise. We are migrating to Valley Center, Kansas! So why Valley Center? V.C. is where our good friends Tyff and Jeff of T&J Studios are located and we will be sharing studio space with them. Yes, we like them that much! :)
We are not going into business together, we will remain our separate businesses but just work out of the same building. We will also still be referring to other photographers that we enjoy working with as this is not an "exclusive" working relationship, so don't fear coming to the studio to meet us if you have already booked another photographer. No pressure. But if you have been to Tyff and Jeff's Studio as of late, this will not be the same location and they will be relocating as well. We will now be sharing 6,000 sq. feet of space and have already made some furniture purchases, etc to make the space our own! There will be many amenities including several office spaces, consultation rooms, large shooting areas, kitchenette, conference room and a posh private screening room! Everything is also ADA compliant if needed. For those of you that will miss the animals, Tyff is kindly bringing her aquarium in so you can have your hypo-allergenic animal fix!
We plan on having a Grand Opening/Open House sometime after we are in and settled and we will announce that date a little later. We would like to invite all our previous brides and future brides when that happens so stay tuned! We will post pictures online after we are in the building, as well as a video tour and lots more info! More news on this and other exciting projects coming up!

Aenchbacher and Ramsey Wedding

Well this weekend, we were able to navigate our way back to Kansas City for the wedding of Jarrod and Patty on the 29th. We left on Friday and returned Sunday after a whirlwind of activity. We were able to attend the rehearsal at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in KC, Missouri on Friday. It was absolutely gorgeous. We left slightly early to catch some of the table decorations at the rehearsal dinner location, M&S Grill on the Plaza. Then it was off to check in at the hotel and get a good nights sleep for the wedding on Saturday. I started by following Patty to The Salon on the Plaza getting her hair and make up done while Barry took time to go shopping next door. :)
Patty was very kind in letting me hop a ride back to the hotel with her to get her dress on and finish getting ready. Her dress was really unique and stunning. There was no bead work, but layers of champagne colored material wrapping around her bodice with narrow sleeves that slipped slightly off the shoulders. Ladies, I would love to tell you who designed it, but for the life of me, I don't recall! The bridesmaids dresses were the most beautiful emerald green I have ever seen and they all looked awesome.
After Patty was dressed, I was able to ride with the ladies to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for her to see her groom for the first time. I was stopped briefly by security and was able to catch up to the bride and groom before their big reveal with their photographers, Neal and Eric from Lemon-Lime Photography out of Kansas City, who were great to work with all day!
After photos at the Museum, it was time to head off to the Cathedral and prepare for the evening wedding. It was not a full Mass, but a great personal ceremony. Patty's bridesmaid Erin sang a great rendition of "When you say you love me" before the bride and groom left the church as husband and wife. They were wished well by all their guests outside the church and climbed into the limo to head to Berg Studio for the reception and party.
The couple had a great time with their guests and dancing all evening. The party wrapped up at midnight and we were happy to have had a hotel room instead of driving home that night! It was a really great day!
Check back in the coming weeks to see Jarrod and Patty's wedding day prequel!!
To Patty and Jarrod, thanks so much for having us and for all your hospitality while we were away from home! We wish you many years of happiness together, you are the perfect couple. By the time you read this you should be home from Paris, we hope you took lots of pictures, we want to see!!!

Dalrymple - Tautfest Prequel Online!

Another prequel is up today! Scroll down to find the Dalrymple-Tautfest Prequel! We think it showed the romance of the day between Jenny and Jayton pretty well. It sure was tough picking shots for this one! There were so many awesome ones! How do you choose great ones but also leave some suspense for the final edit?! We are especially fond of the ending! Check it out and leave us your comments! Check back this week for more prequels and projects!

New Love Story Online!

We finally had some time to upload the Nelson-George Love Story today. Scroll to check it out in Tamaira and Jonathan's post. This was played at the wedding reception and was a big hit with the guests, many did not know the story of Jonathan and Tamaira, nor that she raises fancy mice (yes, the one I kissed in a previous post!). Check it out. More prequels to come this evening!

Zluticky - Parks Party!

It was an interesting and fun wedding this past Saturday! We got to spend the day with Janelle and Josh and their many friends whom we have known for some time!
Janelle started her day getting her hair and make-up done at Asbury Methodist Church. Janelle's mom made sure she would be set for the day by packing a lunch and also providing her Ritz crackers and Janelle's favorite snack- Fudge Rounds. The ladies also played a round of 'Apples to Apples', a card game. It was an interesting day because the bride had her make up done by a former FCP bride Jessica, her Matron of Honor was a former bride of ours, Sarah and one of the bridesmaids is a future December bride, Courtney! And the photographers were Tyffany and Jeff, of T&J Studios, so it was a great time with Janelle and all her friends!
Janelle's flowers were white daisies with yellow centers. The daisy theme was carried throughout the day on the front of the guest book, pen to sign the guest book, in buckets that were draped on the pews and small bouquets the bridesmaids carried down the aisle. The ladies wore white strapless tops with yellow skirts with a dainty yellow ribbon that tied along the waist. Janelle looked stunning in a dress she found at David's Bridal. It was white, satin A-line with removable cap sleeves, chiffon split front and metalic embroidery with a chapel length train.
Janelle chose to see Josh for the first time before the ceremony and they had time for a private moment together. Before the ceremony, the guests were seated while a Trivia slide show filled with multiple choice and True/False questions about Janelle and Josh played on big screens. This made it very personable and fun. Opening the ceremony was a slideshow in memory of Janelle's grandfather and Josh's mother. The ceremony was very beautiful and Janelle and Josh left down the aisle dancing to "This will be an everlasting love".
The reception was held at the Indian Center and the newleyweds wanted to snag a few shots by the Keeper of the Plains on the suspension bridge. Then the entire wedding party was announced by the DJ, Absolute Sound, again with personal trivia about each attendant as they arrived. Dinner was catered by Old Chicago and consisted of pizza rolls, calzones, chicken tenders, salad and fruit. The wedding cake was all chocolate with chocolate frosting. The thin mints were also a big hit and lined a nearby platter in a layered circle. The groom's cake was decorated with all Josh's favorite sports teams he likes to watch.
The party started with the Janelle and Josh's first dance as well as the father/daughter dance and Josh dancing with his grandmother. Everybody danced and had a crazy time. And that is no joke they all knew how to party!
Janelle and Josh - thanks again for letting us spend the day with you, it was great to see old friends and future friends as well! You both were wonderful to work with and for! We can see you are a perfect match for one another. Thank you for dinner, we appreciate it! We wish you many memories and years of happiness together, please keep in touch!

Nelson- George Wedding

Yesterday we spent the day with Tamaira and Jonathan. We have known this couple for several months now since Tamaira booked us being engaged less than 24 hours! We had a really good time at the wedding. We have previously blogged about Jonathan and Tamaira when we were filming their Love Story earlier this summer (see 'A Game of Cat and Mouse' entry). You can watch the love story below.

The wedding and reception were both held at Terradyne Country Club. It was an outdoor wedding with approximately 150 guests attending. It was a blessing that it didn't rain as previously forecasted! Tamaira prepared with her mother, four bridesmaids, train attendant, and flower girl. The bridesmaids wore deep red tea-length strapless gowns and Tamaira's dress was also strapless with a beaded bodice and stain skirt with a ribbon around the waist and a small train. Her flowers were stunning calla lillies of deep red, maroon, orange and peach colors from Rusty Bucket Creations. The guys of course in tuxes with red vests or ties. Jonathan's son did an outstanding job as one of the ring bearers!

They chose to see each other prior to the ceremony so all of the formal photos could be taken and they could have more time to visit with guests at the reception. We had the pleasure of working with Heather and John from Photography by Brandi out of Kansas City. After the bride and groom had their first viewing, with family and friends peering their way, they were able to find an open room to go to for some private time together.

Tamaira arrived to the ceremony location via golf cart and her father walked her down the aisle to Jonathan. The ceremony was short and sweet, yet personal. They chose Unity Sand instead of a candle and walked away from the ceremony as husband and wife under a downpour of confetti. They took some time to drive around the golf course and take some photos as the guests made their way back inside to the reception.

Tamaira's father introduced them as husband and wife at the reception. Steak dinner followed and then the viewing of the completed Love Story which we will post shortly. It was then open mic for the guests to relay their stories about Jonathan and Tamaira from their childhood. Then on to cut the cake, toss the bouquet and garter. Tamaira threw her girls for a loop when tossing the garter, instead of throwing toward the crowd of singles, she threw in the opposite direction to see who really really wanted it!

They chose not to have a dance and after a receiving line, they decided to call it a night as they were off early in the morning for a honeymoon in Miami (and not packed yet!)

Tamaira and Jonathan, again thank you so much for having us as part of your day, we have truly enjoyed getting to know both of you over the last few months. Please keep in touch! You are both genuine, fun and fabulous people that are an absolute joy to be around! We hope it was a great honeymoon in Florida and we expect to see pictures upon your return!
